The presence of several forts and castles in this region is a legacy left of being one of the first to welcome early European traders into the Gold Coast. This part of the country is lined with cocoa and rubber plantations. Takoradi, the commercial capital of the region has a large modern harbour. Some of our mines are also located here.

• The Village on stilts:- Nzulezu; an enchanting canoe ride into the village built on stilts in the centre of the lake Tadase is a must. Villagers welcome visitors everyday except Thursdays which is sacred.
• The Beaches in the region: Sports club beach, Ajua beach, Princetown beach, Miamia beach.
• The Mines:Nsuta Manganese mine, Prestea Gold mine and Tarkwa Goldmine.
