The Greater Accra Region is home to the Capital City Accra. Although the smallest region, it has 2 large Metropolitan areas:- Accra and Tema, the major industrial and commercial centres of the country. The City of Accra has been the capital since 1877. It has fine beaches, excellent restaurants and nightclubs, a range of absorbing museums and monuments, modern business and commercial areas as well as busy large outdoor markets and exclusive residential suburbs. Accra is open to do business with the rest of the world.
